To Be In Love

Rich is so bound up with so much incredible music for me that it's been hard to pick one track. The first time we met, in 1998, I didn’t know anything about house music, and I remember him talking excitedly about some guys called Masters at Work... Through Rich’s enormous passion and even more enormous talent for music I’d soon discover them and so much more. (Though possibly more about the lesser-known Queen album tracks than I'd really asked for.. ;-)

This track from summer 99 is so full of joy, so it feels right to choose as a tribute to a human who spilled over with joy and warmth and soul. It’s the sound of London sunshine, good times, laughter - when I hear it I can see him behind the decks, with that beautiful smile.

It was an honour and a privilege to know and love Rich. His impact will be felt forever.
